So apparently I am into vampire movies afterall! I had absolutely no desire to go see this crazy phenomenon,
The Twilight Series. One day the author of the books, Stephenie Meyer, was on Oprah. I watch Oprah everyday or atleast DVR it and watch it eventually. Ryan just happened to be watching the day Stephenie was on. He asked me what the movies were all about. My first reaction to Ryan was "Have you been living under a rock?" I preceeded to tell him that the world seemed quite obsessed with these books and they have now turne
d into movies. A couple of days later we were at Ryan's parents house and he was telling his parents how he wanted to see the movie,
Twilight. I was rather surprised as he hadn't mentioned that to me at all. He then became rather ridiculous about wanting to see the movie. He would ask me to get it on my way home from work or to just buy it so he could watch it. Finally one day I was able to rent it from the Redbox. We watched it and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it and am now already excited to see the second one,
New Moon. However, I do not think I am near as excited as Ryan :) Or half of America for that matter! :)

It is a very interesting phenomenon, I must say. I was never one to be into sci-fi, vampire stuff, or anything fiction based, but when my students became obsessed with Twilight, I knew I had to check it out. I surprisingly liked it more than I thought. I am still not as "obsessed" as others, but think it's def. worth reading/watching!
