We Like To Party

The week leading up to my birthday, I did a post every day ending on my birthday, June 20th.  Now we sit here almost a month later and I haven't posted since.  Well, what do ya know?!  Seems like the story of my life when it comes to posting.

I wanted to post about my wonderful birthday party we had at the house and then I promise I will stop talking about it and move on. :)  And let's be honest, it's almost time for Stella's FIRST birthday, so time to gear up for that!  Haha.

A couple months before my 30th birthday, Ryan asked me what I wanted.  Nothing new, he always does that.  I thought about it...and thought about it...and thought about it some more.  Then I realized I really didn't need (or want) anything material.  The best thing I could think of was to have all of my friends, all in one place: my cousins, my childhood friends, my high school friends, my college friends, my neighbors....all of them, all in one place, to help me celebrate!  We like to party.  So we did just that.

We threw a party.

It was wonderful.  Of course being June not everyone could make it due to vacations and prior engagements, but I believe we invited 58 people and 49 were able to come!  That made a 30th birthday girl feel pretty darn special.  I feel like God has his ways of making us feel special and blessed.  I surely felt blessed that day with all of the amazing friendships I have built over my 30 years of life.

Ry made pork BBQ that he spent all day smoking on the fire pit.  It was deeeee-licious.  Momma Sally and my sister-in-law, Priscilla, helped with the sides.  And with a few yummy beverages and an absolutely b.e.a.uuutiful day, the party went on without a hitch!

Thank you to everyone who came and everyone who helped.  My 30th birthday week couldn't have ended ANY better.

And turned out, I did get a gift after all.  Ryan and Stella got me the perfect gift that I now wear every day with my wedding set, a peridot (Stella's birthstone) stackable ring.

And a little shout out to Christopher William Jewelers - thank you!
