I am fully aware that since being pregnant my blogging has fell to the wayside and I'm sorry for that. That is due in large part to the fact that the first 18 weeks of pregnancy were pretty miserable for me. Yes, 18 [dreadful] weeks. Lets just say I'm not one of those girls that loooves pregnancy. It's been ok and don't get me wrong, I would do it again. But I in no way think there is anything fun about pregnancy. Atleast not for me! Hey, atleast I'm being honest. Kudos to those that say they could be a surrogate. Ha, not so much for this gal.
So the good news is, I hit 30 weeks today! Woo hoo! Only 10 (give or take) more weeks to go! That is such music to my ears. So tonight, I thought I would give you a quick update of our journey thus far.
I think my pregnancy has been pretty typical. In the beginning I had nausea (24-7), was completely exhausted, and wanted to eat everything. In the middle I started suffering from constipation and heartburn. And nearing the end, I am starting to get uncomfortable, hot and my back is starting to ache! So yeah, I am the poster girl for all the, unfortunately negative, things you could feel while being pregnant. :)
On May 2nd (24 weeks) was our most recent ultrasound. We aren't finding out the gender, but it seems as though everyone thinks it's a boy. Ry and I always laugh at how people "think" they know when really in reality, there is no way of knowing! We've done two of those funny tests that people try. One said girl. One said boy. I've had two birth dreams. One was a girl. One was a boy. Only time will tell, but until then it sure is fun to hear everyone's guesses. I really have no mother's intuition on this one either.
So what do you think?! :)
I know the prize at the end will be WELL worth it all so August 20th can't get here soon enough for Ryan and I. We are both so excited and look forward to what excitements and challenges parenthood is going to bring us.
Sweet little babe, we can't wait to hold you in our arms and introduce you to two people (+ many more) that will love you unconditionally, support you through thick and thin, and be there for you always. You have no idea what you're in for, but I can guarantee you that you're beyond blessed. As are we.

Yikes- 18 weeks of that misery? I was fortunate to have only experienced the feeling of nausea around raw meet until around week 10 or 11. As for the heartburn, that beat me down HARD up to the moment K arrived. I was in labor and struggling w/ that crud! When I was about as far along as you are now, a fan was my best friend. Having a home w/o central heat/air, I would plop down in front of an a/c unit and not move! =) Everyone kept thinking (even myself) that I was going to have a boy. Only R thought we were having a girl- but he didn't tell me that until after K was born. All I can say is from the sounds of your heartburn, you will have a baby with a head full of hair like K had (Several of my other cousins had the same issue happen!). However, I will say this, I do miss feeling K's movements inside of me (yes, even her elbow which constantly jabbed me in the ribs). Cherish those movements. I will admit that the best thing ever was NOT knowing the gender and hearing the Doctor make that big announcement after he pulled K out. However, I was pretty doped up on all of the meds they gave me for heartburn/nausea/c-section so I wasn't 100% fully coherent but I do remember "it's a girl!!!" coming out of Dr. McMillan's mouth. =)
