Stella's Nest

I've been wanting to do a post on Stella's nursery, but once again, time has gotten away from me.  When coming up with ideas for her nursery, it was somewhat difficult because gender neutral is hard these days.  Everywhere you look it's a lot of pink/purple or blue/green and nothing in between.  I had always pictured a very clean, crisp look.  A lot of whites, tans and neutrals with solids and patterns, but no theme.  But when the time actually came to make it happen, we added in color and even ended up with a semi-theme.

We came up with "Stella's Nest" in the end.  And I think it's absolutely perfect for her!

I found a shop on Etsy called Nursery Dreams that ended up doing an amazing job on her crib bedding and curtains. I was in love with the below fabric swatches from her site:

So birds, browns, oranges and neutrals became the idea surrounding Stella's Nest.  We threw in a touch of turquoise/teal just to have another POP of color and Voilà!

How did you decide on your first nursery?  Did you go with a theme?  Did you know the sex?  Hope you liked this little look into our pretty girl's space!

  1. LOVE IT!!! We did Keira's room with a neutral teddy bear theme. With her turning two in July, we are going to let her pick out her new bedding (or I will pick it out!) Time for some GIRLY colors for my very girly gal. =) She LOVES LOVES minnie but I may steer from that theme and do butterflies or something that will be okay for a few more years.
