Love Is In The Air

I promise this won't be a sappy post. I'm honestly not a Valentine's Day kind of girl. I really never cared that much about it growing up, but I guess it is nice to be loved a little extra once a year?! I know I know, you should be loved every day. I get that. But we all know that life isn't a lovey dovey perfect thing every day so why not have one day to atleast make it that way?!

This is our 6th Valentine's Day. SIXTH! That is really hard to believe. I guess the statement "Time flies when you're having fun" really holds true in this case. Because as any couple, we've had our hard times, but we've definitely had a whole lot of fun, too! Probably too much fun at times. Muhaha. :)

Ryan is cooking me dinner tonight and I must say, coming home to a meal that is already cooked and on the table is truly a wonderful gift. We don't usually do material gifts for Valentine's Day but because he bought me an awesome Christmas gift (my Ugg boots!) and I got him absolutely nothing, I am stepping it up this time. That's right, I suck on the no Christmas gift. Oops! So for today...call it what you want...I am making up for it. Funny thing is, he could probably care less but I am doing it anyways! I bought him a few little things that I don't think he knows about and definitely doesn't expect. The best part of the gift is this:

A Patagonia R1 Pullover. He'll love it. It's his style. It's his color. Yes, I'm patting myself on the back. I also got him a pair of gloves he has been wanting and I'm sorry because I couldn't find a picture online of those. They are grey, North Face, nylon-ish, have grippy fingers...you get the picture. I hope he likes, but I'm pretty sure I scored a happy face tonight on this choice.

So over the weekend we weren't intentionally celebrating Valentine's Day but we did go to lunch @ Chili's on Saturday, just the 2 of us (which was awesome) and we also went to the movies on Saturday night!

We saw this:

It was pretty predictable yet funny at the same time. We enjoyed it. I hear it raked in the most money this weekend at the box office even over Justin Beiber's Never Say Never. That actually surprises me. Only because there seems to be so much "Bieber Fever". After last night's Grammy's I might have just a little BF myself. Ok, maybe not but I did think him & little Jaden Smith were so cute. Ok sorry...sidetracked.

So not only is today V-Day but it is also another one of my favorite days, Bachelor Day! It is a Monday night tradition to drink wine and watch Bachelor with Priscilla & Betsy. For tonight I have some exciting wine to try for fun. I first saw it on the Ellen show and then this weekend while shopping in Charlottesville, I bought some.

What do ya think?

We're going to give it a chance! I like chocolate and I like wine so I figure it may just be a pretty great concept.

And lastly, keeping with my theme of the day...BOTH of my co-workers today brought in cupcakes to share. Yummy cupcakes I might add. They both have children so making cupcakes this weekend with their kids was a must (I'm assuming anyways). I had one of Jenn's while I had my morning coffee (thanks for the mug, Abe Shearer!).

And after lunch I will have one of Julie's. I can't hurt anyone's feelings, you know!? :) Judge away. I don't care. It's V-Day and I will eat what I want.

(These are mint chocolate!)

Hope you are feeling love in the air today, too! Might as well. Everyone else is. xoxo

  2. I don't like wine, but can chocolate wine be bad? When Quinn isn't nursing anymore, I think I may give it a try...
