Thankful For Seasons

I have decided the month of November will be my "I'm thankful for" month.  I don't plan on posting every day and I don't plan on only posting about what I'm thankful for this month, but I do plan on writing a couple times throughout this month expressing my thankfulness for some of the things in my life.

And hopefully with a little twist by not using all the cliche answers that everyone gives on Thanksgiving.  Of course I'm thankful for my health, my home, my family, my friends, etc.  But I just want to be a little different this go'round. :)

Today it is 60 degrees out.  This past weekend, it snowed.  A couple weeks before that, it was 70 degrees out.  So our weather has been a little more crazy than usual this time of year.

But I have to say I am so very thankful for the change of seasons.

The Shenandoah Valley is the perfect place to live if you want to experience all 4 of the seasons.  Every year when I am just about sick of the snow and the cold, it's time for warmer weather.  And every year, just when I am tired of being hot and sweaty, it's time for cooler weather.  It's simply perfect!

There is nothing better than a winter day snuggled up under a down blanket, drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music.  There is nothing better than a spring day sitting on the back patio, drinking sweet tea while smelling the fresh cut grass. There is nothing better than a summer day laying by your in-laws pool, soaking up the rays while reading a good book.  There is nothing better than a fall day watching Hokie football while chowing down on tailgate food topped off with a late night campfire.

And here in the Valley, all of the above is typical.  It is normal.  It is my life.  And I'm so thankful for that.
