Flashback Friday #29

My freshman year at Virginia Tech we did a Secret Santa gift exchance with some of my hallmates at Lee Hall.  While writing this I decided to look up the exact definition of "Secret Santa" because I don't think I have really ever known the correct definition.  I mean after all, there are so many...White Elephant, Chinese Christmas, Dirty Santa, etc.

Secret Santa is a Western Christmas tradition, in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practiced in workplaces, or amongst large families, participation in it is usually voluntary. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost to those involved.

We drew names in this case and it looks like beanies, scarves and shirts were some of the exciting gifts. :)  As you can see from the date on the picture, this was taken December 15, 2001.  Ten years ago yesterday.  Oh my, I surely hope the next 10 years sllloooow doooown.
