Happy Halloween 2011!

I've never been a huge fan of dressing up.  Of course I did it for Halloween when I was younger because everyone else did.  And I even did it in college...well...because everyone else did.  Geez, such a follower. Haha.  But it honestly wasn't my most favorite holiday.  So it's hard for me to tell you about my favorite costume over the years.

But as I was looking through old photos I realized when I was young, I was a clown alot.  And it wasn't the same costume, which I think is even more funny.  Who is the same thing several times?!  Maybe it's common amoung youngsters?!  I don't know.  Anyway, here we are.  I'm pretty sure I was in 1st grade in this picture so that means Abe (the monster w/ a tie & shades...maybe he was a friendly monster, haha) was in the 3rd grade and Ben (the baseball player) was in 5th grade.

On Halloween we would trick-or-treat at all of our neighbors close-by (the Grove's, the Drewrey's, and the O'Gorek's).  That's what happens when you live out in the country, you drive to trick-or-treat.  There is none of this going door to door stuff or it would take all night. :) After trick-or-treating we would then head to our elementary school's Halloween party. It pretty much consisted of candy, games, and the best part was the haunted house on the 2nd floor. However, I don't think I actually made it through the haunted house until I was in 4th grade!

After the party we would always go to my grandparents house to see the rest of our dressed-up cousins and have vegetable soup.

And every Halloween we did the exact same thing...  Neighbors.  Weyers Cave Elementary.  Grandparents for veggie soup.  Repeat.

Gotta love traditions.

What were yours?

Why did the skeleton not have a date to the dance?  Because he had no-BODY to go with.
