Love Today

Isn't it such a shame that sometimes in life it takes something tragic to make us realize we should do better at telling those we love just that?  That we love them?  So much?  I am very guilty of this.

One of my best friends in college recently sent out the below email:

Hi ladies,

I'm coming back east tomorrow to attend my Aunt Diane's funeral in NJ. She was only 53 and was killed on a motorcyle in a head on collision with a Dodge Ram this past Saturday afternoon. She was participating in a charity ride to raise money for the police and fire fighters in their town. She has left behind 3 kids ranging in age from 23-17 and 8 very shocked and saddened siblings and their families. My mom is particularly devastated because she and my Aunt Diane are really close in age and were really close.

The reason why I'm sending this to you is to tell you all how much I love you and appreciate you being in my life. It's been a pretty crap year for me so far, but no matter what happens I know I have the love and support of my friends and family.

Please take this time to tell your families you love them very much. You never know when something tragic and unfair could happen. I know my Aunt knew we all loved her very much, but I wish I had the chance to tell her one last time.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. I will be in the area through the morning of the 30th, and have nothing planned for next week. I'll have to play it by ear, but I'd love to see some of your beautiful faces!

You just never know when the day may come that you might lose someone very special in your life.  Did you recently tell them how much you loved them?  Or how much they meant to you? 

Let this be your lesson...today...to never miss the chance to tell those special ones in your life what they mean to you.  Every day worth living, is a day worth loving.  Right?

My life would not have been the same if I wouldn't have met you and 4 other fun, loving, wonderful, innocent :) girls my freshman year at VT.  You all changed my life without a doubt, for the better. I will be forever grateful for all of you & your life-long friendships coming into my life.
